Business Affairs Consultant
For over 15 years, Joyce Dollinger has focused on the entertainment industry. Melding her respect for the arts with her business experience, she counsels and guides individual artists, as well as music and media companies. As a Business Affairs Consultant, she invests time and energy to help her clients run efficient and lucrative operations, so they can focus on what they do best.
Joyce is a pioneering entrepreneur and a highly regarded Operations Manager. She believes the key to success is building and nurturing strong relationships with like-minded people. Trusting her intuition and applying her well honed skills has lead to many a successful business venture which started at an early age in grade school, when she started a “friendship pin” business (it was the ‘80s!) with her classmate. This successful venture was just the first of many.
Fresh out of law school, Joyce partnered with a fellow alum from Island Records and launched her first official small business. She then went on to co-found and launch successful music management companies, record labels and concert promotion businesses, including Camplified -- a first of its kind, age-appropriate, VIP rock concert to captive markets of tweens and teens at summer camps. Later, while in private legal practice, she created the 1-day Entertainment Business Law Seminar at the CMJ Music Marathon, which her firm presented the first year and thereafter was presented by CMJ & the New York State Bar Association, Entertainment Arts and Sports Law Section.
Ever the champion of her clients, Joyce has come to be recognized as a creative problem solver with strong ethics and a generous spirit. At present, she is a business advisor for an eclectic array of organizations, including a label services company, a crowdfunding platform, a top social media firm and a music merchandise company with a philanthropic and environmental vision, called Wear Your Music. Joyce also serves as a newly elected Board Member of the New York chapter of the Association of Independent Music Publishers and she is on the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association, Entertainment Arts and Sports Law Section, serving as Co-Chair of Membership.
In addition to her business affairs consultancies, Joyce is “Of Counsel” at the law firm of Dollinger, Gonski & Grossman and is licensed in New York and Florida. She has worked with many independent artists, music producers, music publishers and for music and media businesses. Her legal resume spans: Arista, BMG Special Products, Motown, Island, Palm Pictures, Relix Magazine and RykoDisc.
With expansive and versatile experience in the music industry and other entertainment ventures, Joyce is uniquely qualified as a Business Affairs Consultant. She is adept at advising on human resources issues, information flow, payroll, employee rights, risk management, organizational structure, and day-to-day business operations. An über organizer, Joyce takes pride in transforming dysfunctional entities into functional enterprises.
